The 12th Man Honor
Beginning in 2018, the Monroeville Football Alumni Association has honored a "12th Man" at home games. Individuals or groups are nominated to raise the "Protect the Marsh" flag prior to kick-off and are recognized at halftime for their contributions to the program.
To be chosen, the nominated individual or group must have shown a commitment to continuing the tradition of excellence in the Eagle football program. The 12th Man is a representation of all past and present members of the team and community who are dedicated to the success of the Monroeville football program. Teamwork is a crucial element of success in football and that team includes the 12th Man. As Jim Busek once wrote about one of our playoff opponents, "When it came right down to it, they miscounted. They thought there were only 11 guys on the other side".
We are always taking nominations. To make a nomination, please contact Chris Scherley or any of the MFAA's board members. You can also submit nominations on this website by going to our Contact page and submitting a nomination with "12th Man" in the subject line, or reach out to us on Facebook or by e-mail.
