New Scoreboard, Play Clocks, & POW/MIA Chair
We were honored to partner with the American Legion Post 547 to install a POW/MIA Chair of Honor beneath the U.S. flagpole. Also on deck for 2020 was a new scoreboard and an addition of play clocks to the facility for the first time. The previous scoreboard had served well but was beginning to show it's age. New rule implementations made play clocks more of a necessity than a luxury as they were once viewed. The play clocks gave a unique opportunity to recognize two of the biggest supporters Monroeville Football has ever seen.

Mike Adelman left his mark on the program and the community in too many ways to mention including leading the formation of MCAL which allowed parochial and public school kids to play sports together, but most recognizably as the "Voice of the Firelands(or Eagles)", calling games from the press box as a PA announcer for many years and also broadcasting numerous games on local radio.

Jerry Schwan played for the very first 11-man football team, ran the chain gang, maintained Marsh Field for many years, drove the team bus on countless Friday nights along with his wife Sue, and served the program as videographer for over 30 years.
We found it an appropriate tribute that their names be as visible at Marsh Field as they were for so many years.
