Marsh Field Re-Crowning
The Marsh Field Re-crowning project took around 6 months to complete, start-to-finish. The first stage included installation of drainage around the field to take away the water to be shed by the new crown. This was done in the winter months to avoid damage to the existing surface. Snow was also removed from the field while it was cold allowing it to freeze solid. Then, an asphalt grinder was brought in to mill down the topsoil on the surface so additional fill could be added. Once the weather broke, the crown was built up and leveled, new sod was brought in and rolled out, and steady watering began. The surface was ready to play for the 2014 football season!

As part of the continual effort to enhance the field, an aerator, top dresser, and slit seeder were purchased and have been used to add and incorporate sand and athletic blend seed mix to the playing surface every year since the re-crowning. Thanks to all the volunteers and donors of their time and resources who made this possible!
